Method Thirty Eight: Pink Shabab
Hello and welcome to Method Thirty Nine. For this edition we’re very happy to welcome South London bassist and songwriter Joe Carvell, aka Pink Shabab.
Joe’s been on our hitlist for a mixtape ever since we first came across the wonky, 80s-leaning pop sound of his 2019 record Ema by the Sea. With a bunch of styles and sounds shining through in his music, Joe taps into some of his favourite laidback tunes and mellower influences here.
With an hour of breezy, eclectic mellowness covering everything from Japanese pop to stripped back Dean Blunt soul and some timeless 90s R&B, this one’s fit for just about any purpose*. So, when the time feels right, sit back, get comfy and mellow out. *Operating heavy machinery while playing this recording is not advised.
